Supporting MORTAR’S Mission with High-Design, Budget-Friendly Solutions
RCF Group partnered with MORTAR, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering minority entrepreneurs, to design and furnish a newly renovated coworking and entrepreneurial support facility in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati. MORTAR had outgrown its previous space and sought a functional and elevated environment to accommodate its expanding programs and services. The renovation transformed a historic building into a vibrant and multi-functional hub.
RCF Group’s involvement was built on a trusted relationship with MORTAR’s leadership, bolstered by its nationally certified MBE status, deep community engagement, and expertise in furniture solutions. To ensure the project met MORTAR’s vision, RCF Group conducted Design In Real Time sessions to demonstrate possibilities, showcased 3D models, facilitated finish selections, and reviewed architectural drawings to seamlessly integrate functionality with aesthetic appeal.
Each floor of the four-story facility serves a specific purpose. The first floor features a pop-up space for entrepreneurs to showcase their products, including a café and retail area. he second floor functions as a coworking space for entrepreneurs and community members, while the third floor provides dedicated office space for MORTAR staff. The fourth floor offers training areas and respite spaces for workshops and meetings. Across the facility, private offices, open-office benching, training spaces, lounges, huddle rooms, and conference rooms provide flexible, inspiring environments designed to celebrate minority entrepreneurship.
MORTAR now operates in a space that reflects its mission and inspires both staff and entrepreneurs. The project exemplifies RCF Group’s ability to deliver high-quality, budget-conscious solutions while supporting community-focused initiatives. By creating a beautiful and functional facility, RCF Group has contributed to the revitalization of the neighborhood and reinforced MORTAR’s mission of empowering minority entrepreneurs.
