UC Health, Greater Cincinnati’s academic health system, and RCF Group have partnered on projects of various scope and size since 2018. As part of UC Health’s Clifton Campus Revitalization project announced in 2020, RCF Group again partnered with UC Health to help furnish their new Surgical Infill Building. Previously, outpatient operating rooms were located in a different building from the main hospital. In the new Surgical Building, all operating rooms will be in one location in addition to eight new operating rooms in order to improve patient care and recovery, as well as staff efficiency. The RCF Group team utilized current furniture standards set-in place to help drive product selections, but also pushed the boundaries to allow the space to have a fresh, new look and be able to take advantage of deeper discounting with suppliers. It was important to specify products that both satisfy the hospital needs of durability and cleanability and the patient needs of comfort and hospitality. RCF Group helped provide furniture solutions that married these two sets of needs for the waiting areas, consult rooms, nurse stations, teamwork areas, exam rooms, PACU bays, and lactation rooms.
